Design Notes: Dirt, plants and paint! Yes please. Not our usual project but was so worth the learning experience. Our clients moved in three years ago to a dilapidated backyard with overgrown weeds, fake grass, a raised deck hiding a tree stump and a cluttered array of hardscaping materials. The plan was to create a sitting area and a patch of grass for their dog to hang out on. We proposed adding a firepit area, solar string lights and a mural for color. Which was a great way to give a garage siding some personality! The entire project was a lot of heavy lifting but since we are love the “Overall Overhaul” we jumped right in laying sod, packing decomposed granite for the patio, reclaimed brick for the edging and new plants for lush garden! It was such a great experience and working with our clients was a blast. It was completed just in time for summer BBQ’s and party gatherings.
